  Apply this broad theme creatively!

  Create or select something form your body of work that exemplifies this concept. 

  We are curating a retail art show in the Member Lounge in October and November to promote your local art. This show will be featured over two second Saturday open gallery evenings.

  
  

  We invite you to take advantage of this WADA member benefit to exhibit in the Burka Member Lounge for our next member show. 

  Artworks selected from the entries will be on exhibit in the Burka Member Lounge at the ArtsXchange.

  Eligibility: Members of the Warehouse Arts District Association. Not yet a member? JOIN HERE

  Exhibition Dates: Artworks selected from the entries that best fit the theme will remain on exhibit in the Burka Member Lounge at the ArtsXchange, on the Deuces Corridor in October and November.

  Opening Night: Second Saturday, October 10 with an additional open gallery night on November 14, from 5:00 to 9:00.

  Deadline for Entry: Members are invited to submit up to two works for consideration through September 27.

  The weekly Figure Drawing Lab is an opportunity that welcomes artists of all skill levels to practice with intention and work alongside professional artists. Space is limited, so when you register in advance, your place is guaranteed. The live models rotate weekly to keep the exercises varied and challenge the artists to improve.

  WADA Member Marketplace: 

  The ArtsXchange campus on the Deuces Corridor is an anchor destination for art lovers. On the second Saturday of the month our studios, galleries and businesses are open. The Member Marketplace is one of the many offerings we provide to our visitors.

  The free Warehouse Arts District Trolley is operating, transporting people between the ArtsXchange and multiple locations within the District.

  Register now to reserve a space for Second Saturday 

  General Terms and Conditions

  • Offered exclusively to WADA Members for a $25  registration fee.
  • You must be an artisan selling personally handcrafted goods.
  • WADA provides a 10'x10" space on the plaza with access to electricity.
    
  • You provide a weather-stable tent with weights at all corners.
  • You provide all props, displays, lighting; suitable for outdoor weather conditions.
    
  • Space is allocated at WADA's sole discretion, after check-in with a WADA representative, on the day of the event. No set-ups prior to 3:00 pm.
  • Second Saturday at the ArtsXchange runs from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Weather permitting, all vendors must remain open for the duration of the event.
  • Refunds: If you are unable to attend after making a reservation, please contact us and we will apply your registration fee to the next month. This is a rain or shine event. If you choose not to set up in unfavorable weather, your reservation will be credited to the next month.

  The Warehouse Arts District Association (WADA) is proud to partner with a series of local Florida based filmmakers to create a unique Halloween event focused on Art, Food, Costumes, Drinks, and Films. 15 locally produced horror, Sci fi, and experimental short films will play at the ArtsXchange in St. Pete, where local artist installations will be open for viewing.

  "Cash prize for Scariest/Strangest film" and with "Hosted by Actress Eugenie Bondurant" (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It; Werewolf By Night; Fear Of Rain; The Hunger Games: Mockingbird)

  
  

  Event Lineup

  - 7:00pm — Attendees can enter the event to attend the art exhibits and participate in the costume contest with prizes. Enjoy Halloween music and spooky vibes while exploring the  ArtsXchange, and get dinner at the Foodie Labs.

  - 8:30pm — The films begin. Watch a series of specially curated, locally produced, independent films play on the ArtsXchange stage. Family friendly films will play first. Films will scarier content play after a brief intermission. (All films are unrated)

  - 10pm —Q&A/meet and greet with the filmmakers and artists in attendance.

  Led by veteran Puerto Rican drummer and percussionist Dimas Sánchez, his Afro Latin Jazz Project fuses traditional Afro-Puerto Rican folk rhythms with modern Latin jazz. The ensemble performs original compositions and reimagined jazz standards, featuring intricate percussion and rich Caribbean-infused arrangements.

  
  

  Throughout his career, Dimas has collaborated with an impressive range of internationally acclaimed artists and ensembles, including the Xavier Cugat Orchestra, David Sánchez, Giovanni Hidalgo, Eddie “GuaGua” Rivera, Néstor Torres, and Chuchito Valdés. He has performed at major festivals and cultural events worldwide, such as Mundo Latino in Paris, The Mastercard Jazz Festival in San Juan, Clearwater Jazz Festival, Jacksonville Jazz Festival, SunFest in West Palm Beach, and Toros y Salsa in Dax, France.
