Drawing is one of the most fundamental forms of artmaking, with some of the earliest examples being the cave paintings in Lascaux, France from 30,000BCE. Drawing, since then, has evolved to become a powerful tool for artists to manifest their ideas into reality. WADA is committed to providing artists from all over Tampa Bay the resources necessary to sharpen this tool, hone their craft, and cultivate the artist community.

The weekly Figure Drawing Lab is an opportunity that welcomes artists of all skill levels to practice with intention and work alongside professional artists. Space is limited, so when you register in advance, your place is guaranteed. The live models rotate weekly to keep the exercises varied and challenge the artists to improve each week.

"Each drawing one makes is a step forward."

A rare workshop for creatives, presented by the Warehouse Arts District Association

Benoit Glazer grew up in the Laurentian mountains of Québec and began teaching in McGill University's jazz department at just 21. By then, he was already an accomplished touring and studio musician. Over his extraordinary career, he has performed live for over 15 million people, appeared on albums that have sold millions of copies, and spent nearly two decades as the conductor for Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba.

In 2000, he founded Timucua Arts Foundation—one of Florida’s most beloved and innovative interdisciplinary arts spaces—where he continues to serve as artistic and technical director. An award-winning musician, philanthropist, and visionary, Benoit is widely recognized for transforming performance venues into inclusive, artist-centered communities.

In this dynamic, behind-the-scenes workshop, Benoit will share:

    • His personal evolution from touring musician to arts venue founder and community-builder

    • Candid stories from multi-disciplinary collaborations and arts initiatives over the last 25 years

    • The origin and impact of Timucua’s Artists in Resonance program

    • Lessons learned from integrating visual art, music, and storytelling under one roof

    • Practical advice on navigating the pitfalls and possibilities of structured arts programs

    • Strategies for elevating both artists and audiences through thoughtful curation and design

Whether you're a visual artist, musician, educator, curator, or arts administrator, this is your chance to connect with one of the region’s most accomplished cultural leaders and walk away with inspiration, insights, and tools to shape your own interdisciplinary journey.

The Warehouse Arts District Association (WADA) is proud to present a thought-provoking exhibition centered on the work of artist Ali Syverson.

This exhibit is part of WADA’s ongoing commitment to bringing timely and meaningful local, regional, and national themes to our community — using art as a unique lens through which we can explore complex topics.
Through a month-long exhibit and a series of educational events at the ArtsXchange, audiences are invited to engage with the history and evolving role of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Since 1961, USAID has played a key role in global development, humanitarian assistance, and U.S. foreign engagement. The Unraveling raises questions about what the future might look like without this agency and invites thoughtful dialogue on the broader implications for communities around the world. Artist Ali Syverson, alongside special guests, will guide conversations and events exploring how art can help us reflect on global systems, policy, and humanitarian impact.Join us as we consider what’s at stake — and how creative expression can foster deeper understanding and connection.
