CLASS DESCRIPTION
This 4 week workshop is ideal for students that have some familiarity with painting in oils and want to sharpen their skills while painting the subject that they desire. The goal is for students to enter the class with a blank canvas and be guided through the process from start to finish leaving them with at least one complete painting. This workshop is unique in that it will be a small group of 4-5 students that will each be aiming to paint a subject of their own choosing. Beginners and advanced students are welcome as the instructor will adjust to each skill level required.
This workshop will assist with creating a composition, establishing an underpainting, building layers, color mixing & brush skills. Jadus will be sharing her own techniques on layering color and how to use ‘value’ and ‘color’ to achieve dimension. The classroom space is equipped with easels and tables and students will also have an option to utilize the space and work an additional hour after class.
This workshop focuses more on representational work (not abstract). Some of the pieces that the instructor has helped students make for themselves in the past are: portraits, animals, landscapes, birds, florals and more. If you want to take this class, but are unsure about what to paint or want to know if it is right for you please contact the instructor at cjadus@gmail.com to consult before the initial workshop.
