Celebrate Pride Month with ‘Pridentity Shorts’ a captivating showcase of short films that illuminate the diverse experiences and perspectives within the LGBTQ+ community, followed by a round-table artists' discussion and Q&A.
The program features:
Flag Act by St. Petersburg filmmaker Susana Darwin. Synopsis: A free-spirited woman defends her right to fly a rainbow flag against an absurd new law
Un Tipo Como Tú by Miami-based Cuban filmmaker Ava. Synopsis: A passionate encounter between two strangers, a boy and a girl, and how their prejudices, traumas, and desires come to the surface.
Following the screenings, join us for an engaging roundtable discussion with filmmakers Ava and Susana, alongside Miami-based art historian and curator Gladys Garrote, and Andy Citino, co-founder of local non-profit TransNetwork. Together, they'll delve into the themes of identity, expression, and the power of storytelling in celebrating and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community.
