Let’s keep our artists in St. Pete!
Join us in committing to participate in Give Day Tampa Bay on May 5th.
Your donation will help keep our artists in St. Pete by creating affordable, sustainable artist’s studios. Typically artists get priced out of their workplaces after they have redeveloped a rundown, inexpensive area (like on the 600 block, Ybor City, and SoHo NYC). We are solving that problem by transforming a compound of six warehouse buildings with over 50,000 sq. ft. of space into affordable working studios call the ArtsXchange. Offices, class rooms, a large gallery space, a foundry, performance space and a possible micro-brewery are also in the tentative plans. The Pinellas Trail runs alongside the compound as well and ideas are swirling around about creating an “Arts Gateway to St. Pete” with colorful murals and artwork and opening up trail access from the compound to neighbor, Duncan McClellan Glass’ location, and to the Morean Center for Clay.
This project will revitalize nearly three acres of blighted property in the heart of the Warehouse Arts District near Midtown and help bring the arts to an underserved population.
Give day also has a prize pool!
