Join us for an afternoon of coffee and conversation with local Artist and Healer, Frederick Rootman Woods. View his solo exhibition and hear about the stories behind his work.

Unspoken Words explores the subjective nature of art and the variance in interpretation based on background, life experiences and perceptions. We experience Rootman’s oil paintings hung next to written words by local artists, such as Carrie Jadus and Susan Antoinette, with their thoughts on the piece. To describe this unique exhibit, Rootman says, “My art. Their words. Your interpretation.” With the art and words side by side, the viewer is drawn into reflecting upon each individual piece of art, the words of another viewer and contemplating their own sense of meaning within the art.

“In our fast-paced society, many people are experiencing abundance and getting their needs met but still feel like something is missing, like something is always missing. With Unspoken Words, it is my sincere hope that when you view my art, you and I share a moment together that reflects on the beauty of discovery," says Rootman.

More about the artist: Fred Woods is Rootman, a self-taught artist who grew up in rural Florida, Using oil on canvas, he views art as a way to communicate the full tenure of life’s vibrant emotional journey and as a way to express the hope of a better tomorrow.
