Join us for a two-part event beginning with a crucial town hall at WADA to discuss the recent veto of state arts funding in Florida. Hear from local government representatives, arts leaders, and local media as we address the significant impact this budgetary cut has on local arts organizations and explore advocacy strategies to support our artistic community during this challenging time. We are thrilled to have Jason Mathis of the St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership moderating this discussion and honored to welcome our distinguished guests: Senator Darryl Rouson, Celeste Davis, Director of Arts, Culture, and Tourism, Gina Driscoll, City Council Member, Margaret Murray, CEO of Creative Pinellas, and Artist and WADA Board Chair Mark Aeling.
Additionally, we will also be introducing the new Phoenix Award. We are excited to honor three community members whose dedication and selfless service have enriched the lives of countless others. Recipient’s will receive a financial award and a unique replica of the iconic Rise Monument, designed by sculptor Mark Aeling and will be awarded at the WADA’s Annual 9/11 Commemoration Event.
Light lunch will be provided, limited seating is available. RSVP required by 7/20
